Pakistan is making progress on 2030 Agenda and Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform in collaboration with the provincial governments working on alignment of the public policy with Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs.
A National Framework on SDGs has already approved by the National Economic Forum – NEC, which provides basis for prioritization and target setting. As work on provincial frameworks is underway, it is ripe time to set tentative provincial targets aligned with the national targets.
A National Workshop on SDGs Baseline and Target Setting is scheduled to be held on Thursday August 02, 2018 at 09:30 AM in the Auditorium of Planning Commission, P-Block, Pak Secretariat, Islamabad to look into methodological issues. The prime objective of this workshop is to discuss standards and definitions, level of effort to get data (published, computation, administrative data, etc.), preferred data sources used in baseline and target setting by identifying key methodological issues such as accuracy, reliability, frequency of data, etc.
First session of the workshop will hold discussion on the baseline and targeting and in the second session the Minister of Planning, Development and Reform will conclude the workshop.
