Participation at Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue with Parliamentary Task Forces on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) – 27th February 2018 at Marriott Islamabad

 

Tabeer, a two and half year programme funded by British High Commission, is working to support the consolidation of democratic processes in Pakistan by strengthening the capacity of the country’s institutions to be more effective, accountable and responsive to the needs of Pakistani people. British Council Pakistan is implementing the Parliament Assistance component of the programme.

As part of the programme, Tabeer is going to provide technical assistance to federal and provincial assemblies and to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation, through a strategic partnership with Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS). Tabeer and PIPS, in cooperation from the other development partners Subai, UNDP and SDPI is going to organize 3-days Inter-Parliamentary Exchange of Parliamentary Task Forces on SDGs of all provinces and its interface with the National Assembly SDG Task Force from 26th-28th February at Islamabad. The participants include NA and Provincial SDG Task Force members, assembly staff and CSOs.

The event focuses to discuss the avenues of support and collaborations between SDG Taskforces and CSOs, especially around SDG Goals 1, 5, 8 and 16.
